If you start directly from our hiking hotel in the Bavarian Forest, you can choose the Rattenberg High Altitude Trail (trail no. 10), which leads to the small chapel at the entrance to Hochholz at first, and then into the forest. The trail ascends steadily, wild and full of roots, surrounded by tall spruce trees and moss-covered stones. The destination is the Kramerschopf peak, at 709 metres. If you like, you can turn off to the “Schöne Aussicht” panoramic sight and enjoy the unobstructed view of Krisenzell, Wassersbühl, Steinachern. Then the descent begins. Steep. Wildly romantic.
